RAUE CENTER ANNOUCES FIRST ANNUAL OKTOBERFEST CELEBRATION: RAUETOBERFEST
Raue Center For The Arts announces their first annual Oktoberfest celebration for the final weekend of September! The fest will take place 4p-midnight on both Friday, September 26 and Saturday, September 27 and will feature live music, free children’s activities and other authentic Oktoberfest entertainment and games. Fest will be held on the corner of Main and Crystal Lake Ave at 100 S Main Street.
The two-day, outdoor event is a welcome addition to the fall season and will host local music heroes, Modern Day Romeos (MDR) on Friday, September 26 at 9p thanks to Cardinal Wine and Spirits and Sage Products, Inc. MDR marked their 12th anniversary this year. And in those 12 years of playing, the band has amassed a following all over the Lake, Cook and McHenry County area. Their musical tastes and styles reach from Motown classics of the 60s and 70s into the top 40 hits of today. And in the band’s often-eclectic set choices, they always provide most entertaining and engaging live music experiences.
Rauetoberfest will also include a Kid’s Corner that will have a ton of great activities for the youngsters! Kid’s Corner is sponsored by Friendship House and activities will be provided by Crystal Lake Nature Center, Pump It Up and Friendship House. Kid’s Corner will be open both days 4-8p. Admission to the fest is free for children 12 and under.
Festival -goers should be sure to bring their appetites to this traditional celebration, which will boast German fare such as bratwursts and pretzels from area vendors as well as authentic Oktoberfest beers provided by L & V Distributing, Inc. The official keg tapping ceremony will take place at 5p on Friday, September 26, so bring the family and check out what is sure to become a cherished Crystal Lake tradition!
