Kollaboraton Returns To Chicagoland Saturday, July 7th
Kallaboration will return to Chicagoland with its mission to “empower through entertainment” – bringing Asian American talent into mainstream media and the entertainment industry. The show features all types of localperforming artists including vocalists, musicians, dancers, lyricists, and instrumentalists all competing for the $1,000 first place prize. The event will be held this coming Saturday, July 7th at 7:00pm at the North Shore Center for Performing Arts (9501 Skokie Blvd, Skokie, IL)
Elite Chicago judges will include: Jon Cotay, Owner of AKIRA; Nancy Loo, Emmy Award-winning journalist, Anchor and Reporter at WGN-TV, and Anchor for 9 years at FOX Chicago News; Edward Kim, Owner/Head Chef at Ruxbin; Eddie Lou, Co-Founder of ShiftGig and Urban Students Empowered Foundation, General Partner for 10 years at OCA Ventures.
For the first time, Mnet (www.mnetamerica.com), the 24/7 English-language TV network in the U.S. targeting Asian Americans and fans of Asian pop culture, is going to be on location following each city’s talent from auditions to the finals in LA where the top acts from each city will battle it out to be the next break-out star. Kollaboration is part of a country-wide network of talent shows that started 12 years ago and now has expanded to 15 shows in 13 cities.
Since its inception, Kollaboration has had the honor of working with a dynamic network of esteemed individuals of the entertainment industry, such as John Legend (Singer, Grammy Award Winner), Teddy Zee (Producer, The Pursuit of Happiness, Hitch), John Cho (Actor, Star Trek, Harold & Kumar), Tom Anderson (Founder of MySpace), Ken Mok (Executive Producer, America’s Next Top Model), Joseph Kahn (Music Video Director, Britney Spears, Janet Jackson, U2, Backstreet Boys), Drunken Tiger (Rapper group, Korean Hip Hop) and more.
