GEJA’S CAFÉ TO ROLL OUT THE ROMANCE FOR AN EXTRA LONG VALENTINE’S FESTIVAL 1 Geja’s Café, 340 W. Armitage, is planning the most romantic Valentine’s  celebration in its 52 year history.  For eleven days, from Friday, February 10th through Monday, February 20th, the renowned “Restaurant of Romance” will be elegantly decorated and feature rose’ sparkling wines and champagnes, live flamenco and classical guitarists, photo keepsakes, and delicious sizzling hot fondue cuisine. The Valentine’s festival will end with the popular Celebration of Marriage Night, where couples receive an added discount based on the years they have been married.

“Our goal at Geja’s is to create the perfect Valentine’s experience for our guests over all eleven days,” says Jeff Lawler, Geja’s Proprietor.  “We will combine the ingredients – romantic atmosphere, fine champagnes, lavish decorations, live music, flower arrangements by Dilly Lily, couple massage packages at Lincoln Park Massage plus delicious fondues – into the perfect recipe for romance.”

Tuesday, February 14th

4:00─6:00                   $85 per person

6:30─8:30                   $95 per person

9:00─                          $95 per person

The Valentine’s Dinner Package includes Geja’s creamy Gruyere cheese fondue, a glass of rose bubbles, Geja’s salad with tangy Dijon vinaigrette, entrée fondue of Beef Tenderloin, Lobster Tail and Jumbo Shrimp, Geja’s luscious flaming chocolate dessert fondue with coffee and a Geja’s keepsake. Ask about the special packages Geja’s has arranged at Lincoln Park Massage or flowers from Dilly Lily.

Reservations for the Valentine’s Dinner Packages begin Monday, January 16 at 9:00am. Romancers can go to Geja’s website www.gejascafe.com click on the Valentine’s icon to complete their reservation or call Geja’s at 773-281-9101. A credit card payment at the time of reservation is required. Geja’s regular reservation policies and menu will be in place for the remainder of the Valentine’s week.

 

Celebration of Marriage on Monday, February 20th

One of Geja’s most special evenings of year!  With proof of total years married, couples will receive a celebration savings of 1% off their food bill for each year married.  For example, couples wed 15 years will enjoy a 15% celebration savings.  Not valid with any other discounts or promotions.

Geja’s has been the site of 139,154 first dates and 16,465 engagements and diners have enjoyed over 324 tons of cheese fondue and over 959,306 bottles of wine over its fifty-two-year existence. Geja’s Café opened in 1965 on Wells Street in Chicago’s Old Town neighborhood. For six years, Geja’s operated in that location, serving as a Bohemian enclave for artists and writers. In 1969, John Davis-Geja’s Café founder, began the Geja’s Wine Society, one of the nation’s oldest tasting groups, and the restaurant began to be known as Chicago’s first “wine bar.” In need of additional seating, Geja’s relocated to its current Armitage Avenue location in 1971, where the restaurant continues to thrive. The original 1965 bar and many of the fixtures are still a part of Geja’s charming atmosphere. Today, Geja’s Cafe continues to be voted “Chicago’s Most Romantic Restaurant” by numerous local and national publications. In 1993, CNN featured Geja’s as the “Best Fondue Dining” in North America. In 2008, Food Network Channel featured Geja’s as the Ultimate Romantic Dipping Place in North America and in 2010 Geja’s was named one of America’s 50 Most Romantic Restaurants by OpenTable. Then in 2015 Geja’s was voted by USA Today’s reader poll to be America’s Most Romantic Restaurant

Known for romantic fondue dining – food one prepares and shares – and an extensive list of fine, moderately priced wines, Geja’s Café features over 20 different types of fondue entrees including cheese fondue and chocolate dessert fondue.
