The Michael Jackson Estate and Columbia Live Stage announced today that the new musical Don’t Stop ‘Til You Get Enough will now have its world premiere on Broadway, when it opens in Summer of 2020, foregoing it’s pre-Broadway engagement in Chicago.

Its previously announced premiere in Chicago has been unfortunately cancelled due to scheduling difficulties    about by the recent Actors Equity strike.  The new musical will feature a book by two-time Pulitzer Prize® winner Lynn Nottage and a score made up of some of the best-loved, top-selling songs in recording history. Tony Award winner Christopher Wheeldon will direct and choreograph.

The producers also announced that the musical’s First National Tour will premiere in Chicago.

“While we’re disappointed by this necessary change, we are thrilled the producers have chosen Chicago as the launch for the First National Tour,” said Eileen LaCario, Vice President of Broadway In Chicago.
