EXPO CHICAGO, The International Exposition of Contemporary and Modern Art, announces the following list of premier galleries that will exhibit September 18 – 21, 2014 at Navy Pier’s Festival Hall (600 E. Grand Ave).
After a successful two years, EXPO CHICAGO, under the leadership of President and Director Tony Karman, releases the 2014 exhibitor list of 137 leading galleries representing 17 countries and 42 cities from around the world. EXPO CHICAGO welcomes the return of the world’s leading galleries for the third year of the exposition while also introducing galleries new to Chicago. 17 countries from around the world will be presented at the 2014 exposition and include: Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Korea, Mexico, the Netherlands, Singapore, Spain, Switzerland, United Kingdom and the United States.

EXPOSURE, the section of the fair dedicated to galleries that have been in business seven years or less, allows the opportunity for younger galleries to participate in a major international exposition. Chosen by the 2014 EXPOSURE selection committee comprised of Candice Madey, On Stellar Rays | New York and Jessica Silverman, Jessica Silverman Gallery | San Francisco—who participated in the EXPOSURE section in 2012 and 2013 and have now entered into the main section of the fair—a special presentation of one or two artists by each of the participating galleries provides critical exposure for their programs, offering an important opportunity for curators, collectors and art enthusiasts to survey the best in innovative and emerging work.

Program Highlights
EXPO CHICAGO will once again present a dynamic array of programming throughout the exposition. Presented in partnership with The School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC), /Dialoguesis a year-round program of symposia, panel discussions and provocative artistic discourse highlighting the field’s leading artists, architects, curators, designers and arts professionals and the current issues that engage them.In conjunction with Columbia College Chicago, EXPO VIDEO highlights a selection of dynamic and cutting-edge film, video and new media works by artists selected from the exhibiting galleries at EXPO CHICAGO, curated by artist and curator Astria Suparak.Curated by Executive Director of Independent Curators International (ICI) Renaud Proch, IN/SITU provides the opportunity for exhibitors to showcase large-scale installations, site-specific and performative works by select international artists.
Aligning with Chicago’s top cultural and art organizations, EXPO CHICAGO’s VIP Program will provide exclusive access to private events, curator led tours of museum exhibitions as well as tours of the fair, and visits to some of Chicago’s premier private collections and artist studios.
EXPO ART WEEK AND PARTNERS
In an effort to highlight the vast cultural opportunities that Chicago has to offer to collectors, dealers, art enthusiasts and tourists, EXPO CHICAGO, in conjunction with Choose Chicago, the city’s tourism and marketing organization and Chicago’s Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events (DCASE), presents the return of EXPO ART WEEK (Sept. 15 – 21, 2014). With EXPO CHICAGO as the centerpiece, the exposition will join together with the city’s most prestigious cultural institutions for a citywide celebration of arts and culture with over 100 special events, institutions, museums, galleries, theaters and restaurants participating. Visual art programming highlights include Gallery Weekend Chicago, working in tandem with EXPO CHICAGO.
EXPO CHICAGO will once again partner with the city’s leading visual arts organizations and institutions for special exhibitions on and off the show floor. Art and museum partners to date offering special viewings and ticketing options include:
