HISTORY OF DEATHSCRIBE
Each year, WildClaw Theatre Company solicits and receives over one hundred original, imaginative horror radio stories from theatre and horror aficionados around the world. The final five radio plays are then selected to compete for the coveted Bloody Axe award. The five finalists send thrills up our audience’s spines as they are brought to life by Chicago’s finest actors and directors, accompanied by a live band and a team of sound effects artists – complete with live foley onstage. The winner of the Bloody Axe is chosen by a panel of horror and theatre experts.
More information on our 9th Annual Deathscribe Festival to be held on Monday, December 5th at Lincoln Hall will be announced shortly.

WildClaw Theatre brings the world of horror to the stage. We attract an audience craving strange journeys of dread, suspense, terror and wonder: Horror Theatre. The name “WildClaw” pays homage to the late, great Chicago actor, writer, and raconteur – the much loved and missed Ray Wild, otherwise known as “The Claw”.
