The Hippodrome Theatre presents: A Fundraiser in 3 Acts! on Sept. 11
Local talents will come together to bring live music to the Hippodrome Theatre on Sept. 11.
To kick off National Arts in Education Week, the Hippodrome Theatre will present a benefit concert, “A Fundraiser in 3 Acts!” The concert will raise money for its education department, which strives to foster children’s creative talents, fuel their passion for the arts and provide scholarships and opportunities to underprivileged youth.
At the event, the community will experience an evening of incredible music from its favorite local artists, including Ricky Kendall, Ane Diaz and Pine. Doors open at 6 p.m., and musical acts begin at 7 p.m. A full cash bar will be open for attendees.
“In the spirit of the Hippodrome Theatre’s 45th season, we are so excited to bring attention to the truly amazing work our area youth create in this theatre,” said Gabrielle Byam, the theatre’s education director. “We want to continue helping local youth through the arts, and this fundraiser will do just that.”
Tickets for the fundraiser can be purchased through the Hippodrome’s Box Office at (352)375-4477.
ACT 1 (7 p.m.), Ane Diaz: Artist Ane Diaz, who was previously in Gainvesille’s NDolphin and The Causey Way, will be sharing her new project “Venezuela.” Diaz’s project is a tribute to the country, honoring its continued fight for freedom.
ACT 2 (7:45 p.m.), Pine: New to Gainesville’s music scene, Liberty Phoenix and Dann Stepp will come together to bring you into their world of folk music. A talented string band will accompany this dynamic duo.
ACT 3 (8:45 p.m.), Ricky Kendall: Long-time Gainesville musician Ricky Kendall, who works for UF Health’s Arts in Medicine program, will close out the evening. He will promote our area’s local music, business and people through his engaging music.
