Redtwist's Critically Hailed GEEZERS By Tommy Lee Johnston Extends to Sept 7, 2014 1 Jeff Recommended
What roles do we play throughout our lives? These folks step into the spotlight to share their wisdom and tell their stories. There aren't many plays with an older person as the hero. GEEZERS changes all that: there's a whole team. PLAY

Company member and resident playwright, Tommy Lee Johnston, who penned the Jeff Nominated and newly published play, AURA, introduces us to some beautiful and wonderful old people who are enjoying their golden years in a retirement home. Young Jack, a pathologically shy, 30-year old man, begins a job there helping the seniors with their daily needs. But it's the geezers who wind up helping Jack with his needs. On his road to an epiphany, Jack learns from the old folks that he must break out of his comfort zone to achieve anything in life. Jack learns to crawl--then walk, then fly--with a wise group of mentors guiding him along. Company member, Jan Ellen Graves directs this unique, funny, heartwarming drama about growth and wisdom, learning and loving, life and death. CAST (featuring 4 Jeff Award winners) Company members and Redtwist Jeff Award-winners Jacqueline Grandt (BUG) and Brian Parry(SHINING CITY) are joined by company member Deb Rodkin, and guest artists, Michael Bartz, Bruce Cronander, Julie Dahlinger, Caleb Fortune, Aaron Kirby (Jeff Award Winner for DARK PLAYS OR STORIES FOR BOYS), Kathleen Ruhl (Jeff Award Winner for DOLLY WEST'S KITCHEN), and Donna Steele.
STAFF
