Navy Pier is celebrating “wheel love” with free Centennial Wheel rides in honor of Valentine’s Day and National Ferris Wheel Day on Thursday, February 14. From 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., pre-registered guests will have the opportunity to take their Valentines for a romantic ride aboard the city’s beloved attraction, which features enclosed and heated gondolas and picturesque views of the lake and skyline from 200 feet above ground. In addition, one lucky couple will be treated to a complimentary Valentine’s Day date at the Pier that evening – complete with dinner, dessert, a caricature drawing, a gift basket and a cozy VIP ride on the Centennial Wheel.

Those interested in taking advantage of the free Centennial Wheel ride offer must RSVP online in advance and present their reservation ticket at the Pier Park Box Office upon arrival to redeem the ride. Approximately 2,014 – in honor of 2/14 – complimentary tickets are available to guests on a first-come, first-serve basis. Thereafter, tickets will be available for purchase on site. Discounted tickets are available to Illinois residents and U.S. military members upon presenting a valid ID at the Pier Park Box Office. For an extra special Valentine’s Day experience, guests can reserve the VIP gondola – featuring four plush seats, a glass bottom and other premium perks – by calling 312-595-5021.

Navy Pier is also giving away a special date experience at the Pier to one deserving couple. The complimentary experience will include a dinner for two at Riva Crabhouse, dessert from Brown Sugar Bakery, a caricature drawing at Faces in Focus, a bouquet of flowers from the Chicago Flower & Garden Show, a gift basket featuring items from 77 Chicago Flavors, Art-K-Texture and The Neighborhood Urban Gift Shop, and a romantic VIP ride on the Centennial Wheel. Interested individuals can enter the giveaway by completing this form. The grand prize winning couple will be chosen by public votes via poll on Navy Pier’s Facebook page once the Pier has pre-selected three finalists. The runner-ups will also receive a small package to be redeemed at a later date. Refer to the form for full terms and conditions.

As part of other Pier-wide Valentine’s Day specials, select retailers – 77 Chicago Flavors, Art-K-Texture, Dockside, The Neighborhood Urban Gift Shop and This Socks! – are offering a discount of $5 off a purchase of $25 or more. At Bubba Gump Shrimp Co., Valentines can enjoy a four-course dinner for two for $59.99, along with a complimentary box of chocolates to take home. The offer is valid from February 14 through 17. Love birds who head to Riva Crabhouse will be treated to a special prix fixe dinner menu for two for $130 (excluding tax and gratuity), prepared with a little extra love by Executive Chef Octavio Reynoso on February 14.
