Interview with DYLAN HANKEY, Navy Pier Music Programming Coordinator
Navy Pier’s Music Programming Coordinator Dylan Hankey discuss the second annual Global Connections: International Carnivale Celebration as well as other upcoming events at one of the world’s most visited attractions.
Traditionally celebrated in the days leading up to Lent in many Catholic regions of the world, Carnivale is known for its lively music, delicious food and vivacious festivities.
This exciting event will feature performances by La Tosca, Team Jamaica United, Planeta Azul and the Passisitas Dancers, The JoeSounds Caribbean Band and the Four Star Brass Band, among other musical acts. In addition, the program will shed light on how different countries and cities across the globe – including Brazil, Italy, Trinidad and Tobago, New Orleans and more – observe this exuberant tradition.
Saturday, March 2 | 1 p.m. – 5 p.m. | Aon Grand Ballroom
Global Connections is part of Navy Pier’s free, year-round arts and culture programming, designed to inspire, educate and connect communities across the city and globe. In addition to attending Global Connections, guests are encouraged to check out other Pier-wide experiences in dining, retail, attractions and more. For more information, visit www.navypier.org.
