                This is a can’t miss event for every independent documentary and narrative filmmaker with noted entertainment attorney and author of Clearance and Copyright  Michael Donaldson. Dubbed “‘legal Obi Wan Kenobi’ and fair use guru of the documentary film set” by the American Bar Association Journal, Michael C. Donaldson is an entertainment attorney who has been fighting for independent filmmakers for over thirty years. It will be his only Chicago appearance. He will tell stories and share film clips to illustrate fair to illustrate fair use as well as answer questions. This program is presented by IFP/Chicago with support from their sponsors Cinespace Chicago Studios, Cineverse, Digital Professional Institute, the Illinois Film Office, SAG-AFTRA Chicago and the Vermont College of Fine Arts, with special thanks to Columbia College Chicago Department of Cinema Art + Science.  IFP/Chicago is supported by a grant from the Illinois Arts Council.
