Hell in a Handbag Productions Celebrates 15 Years of Fabulous with Annual Benefit "QUINCEAÑERA" 1 Hell in a Handbag Productions is turning 15 – so what better way to celebrate than to throw a QUINCEAÑERA-style party?! Handbag’s annual benefit will feature FUN as big as the Quinceañera gowns ensemble members will be donning. The evening will include a Mexican buffet, cocktails (including our favorite Cervezas and an old family Sangria recipe) games, a silent and live auction, the world's greatest raffle, and a live performance of Handbag highlights (and lowlights) spanning the past 15 years! The festivities will take place Sunday, October 15, 2017 from 5 pm – 10 pm at The Edge Theater, 5451 N. Broadway Ave. in Chicago's Edgewater neighborhood. The live concert will feature Handbag songs and favorite moments from many of the 50+ productions the company has produced over the past 15 years – from POSEIDON! An Upside Down Musical to Lady X – The Musical – plus video highlights from the Handbag vault.

“As a Mexican teenager I always felt short changed not being able to have a Quinceañera because of silly of gender expectations”, says David Cerda Handbag’s Artistic Director, “so I promise to have the biggest and loudest dress ever at the Handbag quinceanera!”
