Jacqueline Stone is proud to serve as ECT’s Artistic Director, after serving as Education Director for ten years.  At ECT, she most recently directed the original production of ‘Twas the Night Before ChristmasJunie B. Jones in Jingle Bells, Batman Smells, The Snowy Day & Other Stories by Ezra Jack Keats, and Mother Goose’s Garden.  In addition to her role at ECT, Stone currently serves as Artistic Director for TUTA Theatre Chicago, where she is co-founder and has acted or directed in over 16 productions.  Most recently Jackie directed the Off-Broadway premiere of Adam Rapp’s The Edge of Our Bodies at 59E59 Theaters in NY.  For the past 20 years she has acted, directed, and taught across the United States including Chicago Dramatists, The Second City and Columbia College Chicago.

Emerald City Theater (ECT) is Chicago’s largest theater for young audiences, reaching children 0 – 15-years-old through its three pillars of work: artistic, education, and outreach. Directed by Emerald City Theatre Artistic Director Jacqueline Stone, KEN LUDWIG’S ‘TWAS THE NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS is a merry, modern mystery!  Go on a playful polar odyssey with Emily and her best friend Amos the mouse as they search for Santa’s missing Naughty or Nice List. Teamwork, determination and heart save the day in this fantastic, slapstick holiday affair. A returning favorite filled with yuletide swashbuckling, this cheery production is a holiday hit for all ages!

Playwright Ken Ludwig’s work has been seen on Broadway and across London’s West End with his plays and musicals performed in more than 30 countries in over 20 languages. His first play on Broadway, Lend Me A Tenor, which the Washington Post called “one of the classic comedies of the 20th century,” won two Tony Awards and was nominated for seven. He has also won two Laurence Olivier Awards, the Charles MacArthur Award, two Helen Hayes Awards, the Edgar Award for Best Mystery from The Mystery Writers of America, the SETC Distinguished Career Award, and the Edwin Forrest Award for Services to the American Theatre.
