DECEMBER SHOWS AT THE MONTROSE ROOM Coco Montoya and Sam Llanas formerly of the BoDeans
The Montrose Room located at the InterContinental Chicago O’Hare in Rosemont introduces Coco Montoya on Friday, December 7, and Sam Llanas formerly from the BoDeans, will perform on Saturday, December 8. Born in Santa Monica and inspired by early rock n’ roll, Coco Montoya started his musical career as a drummer at a young age. His career blossomed in the 70s with Montoya partnering with both Albert Collins and John Mayall, at which point he became recognized as an outstanding blues guitarist. Montoya has worked with numerous influential artists while releasing his own collection of original works. In the late 90s, Montoya was awarded Best New Blues Artist at the Blues Music Awards. Since then, he has released a number of records including “Suspicion,” “Can’t Look Back” and “I Want It All Back.”
