Join the cast of The Second City’s Deep Cuts as they navigate the daily apocalypse of the internet age, where the end of the world is simply fodder for top ten lists and worldwide politics are boiled down to philosophical T-Rex memes. Too busy googling your ex-boyfriend to make a new memory at prom? Too many Big Macs ruining your profile smile?  It’s easy to go to the hit single, but the deep cuts are where it really gets rewarding.

The Second City’s Deep Cuts features Bente Engelstoft, Peter Kim, Kelsey Kinney, Adam Peacock, Dewayne Perkins and Rashawn Nadine Scott. The Stage Manager for Deep Cuts is Meghan Teal and the Artistic Consultant is Billy Bungeroth.

About the Artists

Anthony LeBlanc (Director) is from Beaumont, TX.  He performed with Boxaganga while obtaining a Computer Science and Physics BS at Loyola University New Orleans.  An original member of DSI: The Beatbox, he wrote two Second City Chicago Main Stage Reviews; America: All Better and Taming of the Flu.  He hopes that Second City helps him one day realize his dream of working for NASA, programming A.I. computer systems.

Bente Engelstoft (Ensemble) is performing in UP Comedy Club for the first time as part of The Second City’s Deep Cuts. Originally from Texas, Bente has had the privilege of living and performing in Chicago for the last 6 years. She recently completed her second season with The Second City’s Urban Twist. She can also be seen performing with Big Spoon and Heraldo: The Spanish Harold at iO Chicago. 

Peter Kim (Ensemble) returns to UP Comedy Club with The City’s Deep Cuts. Peter wrote and performed in two revues with Second City Urban Twist and currently understudies The Second City Touring Company. He also improvises with Big Judy and Stranger at iO; with Duckling at The Playground.

Kelsey Kinney (Ensemble), a Cleveland native and long-time lover of all things make-believe, has been performing improv and sketch comedy since 2007. In Chicago, she has been fortunate enough to play with a myriad of funny folks at iO Theater, ComedySportz Chicago, and The Playground Theater. She has performed with The Second City aboard Norwegian Cruise Lines, and is currently a member of their touring company.

Adam Peacock (Ensemble)grew up just outside of Detroit and attended Eastern Michigan University. He was a cast member in the theatrical The Second City’s Got Balls: An Evening of Sports Comedy in Detroitand most recently was a cast member for The Second City Touring Company. He was also seen on the Norwegian Cruise Line’s Spirit and NCL’s Pearl. Adam can be seen performing with Ghostman and Schitck Mahorn.

Dewayne Perkins (Ensemble) a Chicago-born DePaul University graduate, he studied at The Second City and iO, and is an alumnus of The Second City’s Bob Curry Fellowship. Past credits include: The Second City’s Death by Evening, and R.E.A.C.H. He currently performs with his sketch duo Bleep that Bleep and The Second City’s HouseCo: Twisty.

Rashawn Nadine Scott (Ensemble)is from Tacoma, Washington. She studied at Western Washington University, becoming a member of the award winning improv group The Dead Parrots Society. In 2013, Chicago became her home and she began to work teaching children and studying improv. Most recently she was seen in the Bob Curry Fellowship where her relationship with the The Second City began.
