The Warehouse Bar & Pizzeria owners – cousins Carmelo Scalzo and Agostino Femminella – boast many years of restaurant experience. Scalzo comes from a family of Chicagoland entrepreneurs and restaurateurs and always shared the desire and passion of one day being in the same industry. He attended DePaul University and lived on campus in Lincoln Park. Femminella has been in the restaurant business all of his life with early restaurant memories dating back to when he watched his “Nonno” flip pizzas for John’s Restaurant. He began working in the industry at age 21 when his father and brother-in-law opened Piazza Bella in Roscoe Village. When Scalzo found an opportunity to return to the Lincoln Park area and reconnect with the community, he quickly worked with his cousin – now partner – Femminella to put their restaurant concept to paper, design a business plan fit for the neighborhood, and create a unique, authentic menu residents were sure to love.
