When The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time begins, 15-year-old Christopher (Luke Treadaway, left, star of the original production of War Horse) stands beside Mrs. Shears’ dead dog. It has been speared with a garden fork, it is seven minutes after midnight and Christopher is under suspicion. He records each fact in the book he is writing to solve the mystery of who murdered Wellington.  He has an extraordinary brain, exceptional at math while ill-equipped to interpret everyday life. He has never ventured alone beyond the end of his road, he detests being touched and he distrusts strangers. But his detective work, forbidden by his father, takes him on a frightening journey that upturns his world.  Simon Stephens’ adaptation offers a richly theatrical exploration of the touching and bleakly humorous, award-winning novel.

Tickets to National Theatre Live events are $15 in advance at the Music Box Theatre box office and online atwww.musicboxtheatre.com/collections/national-theatre-live-presents; $18 at the door. The Music Box Opens 2012 National Theatre Live Season with the mystery "The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time" 3 This fall, the Music Box Theatre again partners with National Theatre Live to exhibit three live stage performances beamed to Chicago fromthe prestigious National Theatre in London.
