The Daily Meal and Ubiquimedia Unveil Plans for New Television Series

image001The Daily Meal, the mega food and drink site from Spanfeller Media Group (SMG), today announces plans to launch an original television series, in partnership with Ubiquimedia. Currently in pre-production, the pilot episode has been shot and will go to market this month.  This production is the first television pilot for The Daily Meal and will incorporate a wide range of content around all things food and drink, from a variety of angles. 

“This is an evolution of our brand, and a direct result of the tremendous growth The Daily Meal has undergone since launching just three years ago,” said Jacqueline Stone, Senior Vice President of Marketing at Spanfeller Media Group.“Ubiquimedia is a leader in producing cutting-edge entertainment, we are thrilled to have partnered with them on this new endeavor.”

Ubiquimedia and their team are prolific in both live action and animated production, creating and producing programming such as Chuck’s Eat the Street on Cooking Channel, Eat More Chocolate (currently in development), the animated series, itty bitty HeartBeats, and Oscar winner Helen Hunt’s next feature release, Decoding Annie Parker.  Their Emmy Award winning team continues to excel in both the artistic and technical aspects of entertainment content creation.

The Daily Meal’s announcement comes after a record-setting March for the website. According to comScore’s latest multi-platform report, The Daily Meal drew an all-time high of 7.3 million monthly unique visitors, marking an extraordinary 60% increase in reach since March 2013.
