SECOND CITY TRAINING CENTER SUMMER ADULT IMMERSIONS IN CHICAGO REGISTRATION NOW OPEN

The Second City Training Center welcomes grownups from around the city and around the world to learn new skills, meet new friends and take advantage of Chicago’s rich comedy scene through Summer Adult Immersions. Four levels of Improvisation and Sketch Writing classes are offered to adults 19 and up in week-long sessions over the summer. The first session begins Monday, June 2, and new sessions will continue every for 12 weeks, ending August 29.  Intensive three-hour sessions run Monday-Friday, 10am – 1pm or 2pm – 5pm each week.www.secondcity.com/training/chicago

Students may complete four levels, or visit for a week or two during the 12 weeks of sessions. Specialty Immersions  courses taught in a particular topic and often with special guest instructors are also offered to students throughout the 12 week period. All Summer Immersions coincide with the youth and teen Summer Camps— convenient for parents and kids who want to take classes simultaneously.

“The Second City Training Center offers parents and teens a unique opportunity to study improv and sketch writing at the very same time,” says Kerry Sheehan, President of the Second City Training Centers and Education Program. “With both programs starting at 10am, parents and kids can travel to Old Town together to study with some of Chicago’s best. Everyone will work on the same basic skills, which could just possibly lead to better parent-child communication at home. And, of course, some laughs!”
