Route 66 Theatre Company Presents Michael Mahler and The Lincoln Squares performing The Joshua Tree by U2

The Lincoln Squares are Michael Mahler on guitar and vocals; Alex Goodrich (Old Jews Telling Jokes at Royal George Theatre) on harmonica, banjo, ukulele, acoustic guitar, singing saw and vocals; Derek Hasenstab (Road Show at Chicago Shakespeare Theatre) on bass and vocals; Jim Barclay on drums and Alan Schmuckler composer/lyricist of Days Like Today at Writers Theatre (unavailable due to conflicts) with Matt Deitchman (Road Show at Chicago Shakespeare Theater) on keyboards, guitar and vocals; Greg Hirte on violin and Annabelle Barclay on tambourine. “I met Mike while working on his musical Knute Rockne: All-American back in 2008 and have enjoyed working with him as an actor on stage (in Route 66’s High Fidelity) and as a music director (in Paramount Theater’s production of The Music Man). This marks our fourth collaboration with The Lincoln Squares having produced Tommyand Sergeant Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band last year. These one night only concert events are not to be missed.” says Route 66 Artistic Director Stef Tovar.

About Michael Mahler:

Michael Mahler is the singer/songwriter/guitarist for The Lincoln Squares whose debut EP is available online at www.thelincolnsquares.com. His songs have been performed in concerts and showcases around the world, including an evening at the Kennedy Center. Michael won the Jeff Award for his musical Hero and recently contributed additional lyrics to Cameron Mackintosh’s smash West End revival of Miss Saigon.

About the Director:

Tammy Mader AEA, SDC. When the original members of The Lincoln Squares first jammed together in Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story at Drury Lane Theatre and again at Water Tower place, Tammy was the director/choreographer. It is with great pride that she joins the jam session once again. Some of Tammy’s credits include choreographer for Young FrankensteinNext to Normal and Hairspray (Jeff Award for Choreography and nomination for Director-2012) at Drury Lane Theatre, 42nd Streetat Marriott Theatre (2011 Jeff Award for Choreography); Animal Crackers at Centerstage, Baltimore and 42nd Street at the Paramount Theatre in Aurora. She recently was seen as a performer in Cats at the Marriott Theatre.

Route 66 Theatre Company

Route 66 Theatre Company introduces, develops, produces, and exports new work for the stage. The road begins with our new play development process and reaches west, where our world and Chicago Premiere shows are given an advocate for further regional productions along the road less traveled from Chicago to Los Angeles. Since the company’s founding, Route 66 has produced 6 Equity productions, 2 in two cities including a New York premiere, been nominated for five Jeff Awards and won two. 2014 is Route 66’s first full season of new work.
