Hunger Games Star, Jena Malone, to Perform at Thompson Chicago
Thompson Hotels will host two-artist music group The Shoe on a four-city tour following the release of “I’m Okay,” the band’s sophomore album. The Shoe, featuring talented Hunger Gamesactress Jena Malone, will take over a handful of Thompson Hotels properties in major cities with curated performances, following three stunning sets at the brand’s Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel. “The Thompson Hotels X The Shoe Takeover Tour” will kick off in Toronto at Thompson Toronto on June 17, and then The Shoe will perform in Chicago at Thompson Chicago, in New York City at Gild Hall and finally in London at Belgraves. Thompson Hotels and its unique neighborhood locales will serve as musical muses for The Shoe, inspiring imaginative and engaging performances.
Named after the portability of an antique steamer trunk Malone repurposed to house the music set, The Shoe is known for its pop/art music and improvisational performances. Celebrating the unexpected through curated cultural experiences, Thompson Hotels invites guests, tastemakers and fans to experience The Shoe’s avant-garde approach through hosted public and private performances at its properties.

The Shoe
Actress Jean Malone and music producer Lem Jay Ignacio formed The Shoe after they first met at a Christmas carol party in Los Angeles, California in 2008. After all night recording and freestyle sessions in Ignacio’s garage, The Shoe released their first EP appropriately named, At Lem Jay’s Garage. The Shoe’s sophomore effort, I’m Okay, beautifully captures the essence of today’s pop music. In conjunction with the album release, The Shoe premiered their video for, “His Gorgeousness,” directed by celebrated artist Aliya Naumoff.
