Ghost Light Productions of ONE FLEA SPARE runs July 13 – 25, 2014 at The Den Theatre
Ghost Light Productions and Jeffrey Clark Stokes present Naomi Wallace’s powerful drama ONE FLEA SPARE directed by Jeffrey Clark Stokes, playing July 13 – 25, 2014 at The Den Theatre, 1333 N. Milwaukee Ave. in Chicago’s Wicker Park neighborhood. Tickets for ONE FLEA SPARE are available at www.brownpapertickets.com (event 626210).
ONE FLEA SPARE will feature Dori Erwin Collins, David Guy, Sean Jaskiewicz, Caroline Phillips and Scott Stockwell.
Four strangers (an older couple, a sailor and a young girl) are quarantined together during the Black Plague’s sweep through London. They all attempt to connect to each other by revealing their own truths, exposing others’ lies, sharing emotions and attempting to keep the plague out of mind. Unfortunately, there is a constant reminder of the death and decay going on outside those four walls – the guard stationed in front of the couple’s home. He calls the numbers of the dead, offers “remedies,” strikes deals and preaches to the masses – all while seeming to go mad himself from all the detriment around him. Will the plague, confinement, and socioeconomic differences allow these attempted connections to be anything more than an attempt at self-preservation?
The production team for ONE FLEA SPARE includes: Amanda Rozmiarek (scenic design/technical director), Megan Turner (costume design), Claire Chrzan (lighting design), David Samba (sound design), Vivian Knouse (properties design), Evan Williams (stage manager) and Rosie Chevalier (associate producer).
