Charlene Brooks Brings Her Sweet and Sassy Broadway Love To Metropolis For Valentine’s Day

Charlene Brooks is known for her unique cabaret events where she weaves stories of her life with music from all genres. For Sweet and Sassy Broadway Love, Brooks delves into the Broadway canon and creates a night befitting Valentine’s Day. The song selection celebrates love in all its infinite definitions with hits and hidden gems from Carousel, Funny Girl, West Side Story, Rent, Young Frankenstein and many more. Brooks connects with the audience as she performs and shares stories that resonate with everyone that is captivated by her talent. Using humor and tugging the heartstrings, Brooks performs songs that celebrate the hopes, the fun, the heartaches and the timeless appeal of that thing called love.

Brooks has been performing her entire life and has an outstanding list of accomplishments. Her professional career highlights include opening for Tony Bennett, Alan King, traveling with Orion Samuelson on WGN Radio’s “Noon Show,” and her cabaret shows Brooks on Broadway, Brooks Sings Barbra Streisand, You Call That Love, and her very personal story about being the daughter of two Holocaust survivors, “Life Stinks!”… and other things my Mother Taught Me. Brooks has performed for thousands of fans throughout the Midwest including Milwaukee’s Summerfest, Taste of Chicago and a variety of clubs and cabarets. In addition to her professional career, Brooks is also the cantorial soloist at Congregation Bene Shalom, in Skokie.

Another aspect of Brooks’ talents is the creation of the Custom Cabaret. Brooks, utilizing her strengths as comedian, musician and lyricist, creates a unique party event.
