ROOMS: a rock romance begins in late 1970s Glasgow, where ambitious singer/songwriter Monica meets reclusive rocker Ian. The two quickly become creatively and romantically entangled as they journey from Glasgow to London, and from London to New York City, in search of punk-rock stardom. Written by Paul Scott Goodman (Bright Lights, Big City) and Miriam Gordon (Him & Her), this gritty two-person musical, complete with a five-piece live rock band, was nominated for Outstanding Musical by the Outer Critics Circle Awards, the Drama Desk Awards, and the Helen Hayes Awards, and has Broadway World hailing it as “a new contender for Best Musical!”

“We are so excited to present this amazing new musical to Chicago audiences for the first time,” said Artistic Director Brownson. “We’ve got an incredible cast, a dream team of designers, a perfect venue, and all the ingredients needed to give this show the premier production it deserves.”

“Broken Nose is a young, passionate, vibrant group of people that really care about the product they’re putting out. They are really committed to putting on a strong quality production. ROOMS: is really going to be one of those shows that’s new, that’s exciting, that’s different than what you’ve seen in the past couple years,” added Music Director Austin Cook. “It not only appeals to the theatre crowd, but it also appeals to the music-lovers, the people going out to the clubs and the live music venues because we really are playing live punk music set in the 1970s.
