Big Noise Theatre Company, a division of Winnetka Theatre, will hold auditions for DIRTY ROTTEN SCOUNDRELS (book by Jeffrey Lane, music & lyrics by David Yazbek). Audition Date and Time:    Sunday, February 17, 2013 from 6:00-9:30 pm.

Appointments suggested, but not required.

Show Dates:                         Weekends from April 26-May 12, 2012, Fridays and Sat. at 8 pm, Sat. and Sun at 3 pm.  No Sat. matinee April 27.

SYNOPSIS: Based on the popular 1988 film, two con men—the cultivated and suave Lawrence, and small time American thief Freddy—soon find out that the French Riviera isn’t big enough for the both of them.  They agree on a settlement: the first one who manages to get $50,000 from a young female target, heiress Christine Colgate, will get to stay and the other will leave.

CHARACTER BREAKDOWN:  ALL ROLES OPEN

LAWRENCE JAMESON      Male, 45-60 yrs old. An experienced British con artist who is sophisticated, suave, and elegant. Vocal range: G2 – Bb4

FREDDY BENSON              Male, 25-35 yrs old.  A young, clever, aspiring American con artist. He is a sloppy, yet attractive womanizer, and is eventually conned by Christine.  Vocal range: A2 – B4

CHRISTINE COLGATE      Female, 25-35 yrs old.  A seemingly good-natured American heiress vacationing on the French Riviera, who is revealed to be a notorious con artist. Naive and clueless at first, she becomes cunning and mischievous.  Vocal range: A3 – F#5

ANDRE THIBAULT             Male, 45-55 yrs old.  Lawrence’s French assistant. Official and mostly serious, he has a light-hearted nature and a quirky sense of humor.  Vocal range: F2 – F4

MURIEL EUBANKS            Female, 50-60 yrs old.  A wealthy and attractive American socialite from Nebraska, she one of Lawrence’s victims and Andre’s subsequent love interest.  Vocal range: E3 – C5

JOLENE Female, 25-35 yrs old. An American heiress from Oklahoma and the “Princess of Petroleum.”  She is very eager, optimistic, and energetic.  Vocal range: A3 – D5

ENSEMBLE – Seeking strong singing and dancing ensemble.

Please prepare 32 bars of a song in the style of the show or from the show.  Bring sheet music in your key.  An accompanist will be provided.  Come prepared to dance in proper dance shoes and attire.  Picture and resume requested but not required.

Big Noise now offers all cast members participation in its CAST (Comp Assisted STipend) program. Each cast member will be provided with ticket vouchers, which may be sold at full value of $25.00 each.  The proceeds from the tickets may be kept by the performer providing a potential stipend.
