Direct from co-starring as “Grandma” in the new musical, The Addams Family, acclaimed New York comedic actress (and hilarious holiday-hating Hebrew) Jackie Hoffman will debut her Whining in the Windy City: Holiday Edition, a no-holds-barred original musical comedy rant about showbiz, not-so-charming children, and of course the holidays, in four performances only at the Royal George Cabaret, 1641 N. Halsted, Monday evenings, November 30 – December 21, at 7:30 p.m. Deliciously directed towards audiences 18 and older, tickets are priced at $25 and are available by phone at (312) 988-9000, online at www.ticketmaster.com or in person at the Royal George Theatre box office.
Not for the faint of heart or those easily offended, Hoffman promises to skewer everything that is Merry with her biting, fearless stand up comedy and original songs. A cash bar will be available for those looking to steady their nerves but don’t even bother requesting eggnog, mulled apple cider or any other such holiday drink!
“I can’t wait to return to Chicago, where so many people who came up the same time as me are much more famous. I’m gonna really let ‘em have it now,” said Hoffman.

Souvenir by Stephen, directed by Steve Scott November 12- December 20, 2009 Northlight Theatre, 9501 Skokie Blvd in Skokie
Souvenir tells the comedic and musical true story of Florence Foster Jenkins: a New York socialite whose tin ear couldn’t keep her off the stage at Carnegie Hall. Seen through the eyes of her beloved accompanist, Souvenir is a touching and comic tribute to Ms. Jenkins’ sincerity, ambition, deep love of music and complete lack of talent, all of which brought a unique joy to thousands.
