Bucky’s Planet Productions/CIC Theater Annual Baskets of Thanks program.

cicbanner4Though the CIC (Chemically Imbalanced Comedy) Theater is usually full of laughs, a group of area volunteers is coming together to combine compassion and humor this Thanksgiving season – for the third year in a row. The nonprofit theater company and the cast of Bucky’s Planet Productions will join local businesses, representatives from the City of Chicago as well as other local nonprofits in presenting Baskets of Thanks to families and individuals in need.

The event will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 24 at the CIC Theater at 1422 West Irving Park Road in Chicago. A short program will be presented before the baskets, sponsored by individuals and local businesses, are given to individuals and/or families. The baskets will include a gift card for a turkey and a variety of foods to celebrate Thanksgiving.

For 15 years, CIC has provided a weekly venue for improvisational and sketch comedy artists in Chicago to showcase their talents at no cost to them.

Bucky’s Planet Productions has produced a series of shows that play and tour throughout Chicago and the U.S. Productions have included Big Kids Comedy Hour, Cop Drama (TV pilot), and Pimprov, which for the past six years has made donations to domestic abuse shelters throughout the Chicago area.

CIC welcomes businesses and individuals to support the collaboration by making a cash donation or by assembling a food basket valued at $50. Donations and baskets can be delivered to CIC at 1422 W. Irving Park Road in Chicago. For more information, contact Sarah Borer, CIC at cictheater@gmail.com or Marz Timms, Bucky’s Planet Productions founder at 708-214-3250.
