unnamedBroadway In Chicago is excited to announce that members of the National Touring Company of WICKED will join MUSICAL MONDAYS AT SIDETRACK (3349 N. Halsted) and celebrate with the Chicago community on Monday, December 2 with a VIP Party/Performance from 6-8 p.m.  The party will continue throughout the evening with Sidetrack Musical Mondays.  The event will feature the members of the company of WICKED, and net proceeds will benefit Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.

WICKED Cares is part of an ongoing series of performances and appearances by the touring company to support charitable causes which advance WICKED’s theme of acceptance and illuminate the musical’s message that people should not be judged on first impressions.  The company believes that in these divisive times we must come together to support those in need throughout the country and around the world.  In its seven years on the road, the company has raised over $2.5 million in donations for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS and local AIDS service organizations all over the country.  Ten local charities in Chicago benefit from BC/EFA’s national grants program:  AIDS Foundation of Chicago, AIDS Foundation of Chicago – HIV Prevention Justice Alliance, Chicago House and Social Service Agency, Children’s Place Association, Edge Alliance, Housing Opportunities for Women, Howard Brown Health Center, Project VIDA Inc., Test Positive Aware (TPA) Network Inc., and Vital Bridges.

The VIP Reception/Party will feature company members belting out some of their favorite hits from musical theatre. Daytime Emmy Winner Kim Zimmer (TV’s “Guiding Light”) Head Mistress of WICKED’s Shiz Univeristy will be on hand hosting the event that will also include chances at door prizes and incredible one of kind silent auction items and offering special opportunities throughout the evening including tickets and a backstage tour to the show, and a chance to join the company for a walk-on role in a performance of WICKED.  The VIP Reception/Party from 6-8pm is a $20 donation at the door and includes two drink tickets.  Cash, check, and credit cards are accepted.
