I Wish to Apologize to the People of Illinois; The Agency Theater Collective’s Original Play based on convicted Illinois Power Broker Stuart Levine
Using its trademark interactive style, The Agency Theater Collective will tell the story of Stuart Levine, the fallen Chicago power broker whose lurid testimony brought down some of Illinois’ highest-powered politicos, including Governor Rod Blagojevich. Members of the press are being offered complimentary tickets to view the show on Nov. 7 at 7:30 PM.
Using court transcripts, news articles and group devising techniques, company member Tim Touhy and The Agency’s Artistic Director, Andrew Gallant, put together this ground-breaking work to which they believe many Illinois residents will feel a strong connection. Now several weeks into rehearsals, the production team couldn’t be more thrilled with the cast and crew they have assembled for the show.
“It is extremely gratifying to see the cast take the words we’ve written and breathe real life into them, finding new things we never could have predicted,” said Gallant. “One of the most surprising and fascinating things to come of rehearsals so far is our discovery that several members of the cast have connections to the people or events our play focuses on.”
“I Wish to Apologize to the People of Illinois” premieres at Collaboraction’s Pentagon Theatre in the Flat Iron Arts Building, 1579 N. Milwaukee. Members of the press are requested to contact Molly O’Grady at firstname.lastname@example.org to request complimentary tickets. Previews Oct. 31 – Nov. 3; press opening Nov 7; runs Nov. 8 – Dec. 8. Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays at 7:30 PM; Sunday matinees at 3 PM.
Tickets are $20 for the general public and can be purchased at http://apologize.brownpapertickets.com. Questions regarding ticketing can be directed to The Agency at (773) 490-5265 or email@example.com.
