About the CRB
The Chicago Repertory Ballet is a Chicago-based, contemporary dance company founded by Wade Schaaf. Founded on November 13, 2011, the company is dedicated to the contemporary choreographic voice, and sitting at the forefront of what is presented in dance and storytelling. Schaaf defines his company’s mission to be “utilizing the emerging choreographic voice for this ‘generation next’, along with the incorporation of storytelling in dance.” The Chicago Tribune has described Schaaf’s choreography as “high-octane, artfully carefree modern ballet…carefree, that is, only in its mood and deceptively casual ballet tack, while actually packed with a bright rush of swift technique, organizational savvy and some truly fresh design.” (August 1, 2011) More details about the Chicago Repertory Dance company are available at their website:http://chicagorepertoryballet.com.
