The half-hour program will make its premiere on WTTW11, PBS's Chicago affiliate, at 8 PM with encore broadcasts scheduled for Aug. 24 at 5:30 PM and Aug. 25 at 3:30 AM. A national airing is possible.

     "The award-winning vocalist, pianist, composer, lyricist, arranger, and actress Ann Hampton Callaway hosts a new special showcasing classic songs and song stylists," according to "Singer's Spotlight" press notes. "Callaway welcomes her friend – and fellow New Trier High School graduate – actress and singer Christine Ebersole, as they sing separately and together, reminisce, and share fascinating insights on artistry and performance."

     For her work in the dual roles of Edith Bouvier Beale and "Little" Edie Beale in the Off-Broadway and Broadway productions of Grey Gardens, Christine Ebersole was honored with the Tony Award, the Drama Desk Award, an Outer Critics Circle Award, an Obie, a special citation from the New York Drama Critics Circle and the Drama League's 2006 Distinguished Performance of the Year Award. She also received a Tony Award for Best Performance by a Leading Actress in a Musical for her work as Dorothy Brock in the hit revival of 42nd Street and a 2003 Tony nomination for her performance in Lincoln Center's production of Dinner at Eight. Ebersole's other Broadway credits include The Best Man, Getting Away with Murder, Harrigan 'n Hart, Camelot, Oklahoma!, On the Twentieth Century, I Love My Wife, Angel Street and the City Center Encores! productions of A Connecticut Yankee, Ziegfeld Follies of 1936, Lady in the Dark and Allegro. Ebersole was also seen Off-Broadway in Talking Heads and in the recent City Center Encores! production of Applause.

     Not only a singer, Ann Hampton Callaway is also an acclaimed songwriter, whose works have been performed by Barbra Streisand, Patti LuPone and dozens of others. For her Broadway bow in Swing!, Callaway garnered a Tony nomination for Best Featured Actress in a Musical, and her many recordings include "Ann Hampton Callaway," "Bring Back Romance," "To Ella with Love" and "After Ours." Callaway is also a recipient of 14 Manhattan Association of Cabarets and Clubs (MAC) Awards. Her newest CD is titled "Blues in the Night" (Telarc International).
